Ready, set, sew! Turn fabric, thread, and your imagination into something awesome! In this fun, hands-on 4-week class, kids will learn the basics of using a sewing machine, including threading, winding a bobbin, sewing basic stitches, and troubleshooting common problems.
Students will practice their new skills while making a simple project to take home. We’ll also explore sustainability by using fabric scraps and repurposed materials whenever possible.
Sewing is a creative and useful life skill that kids can use for years to come. whether they’re making something new, fixing something they love, or coming up with their own creations!
No sewing experience necessary.
We’re excited to welcome Linda Sessa as our newest sewing instructor! Linda brings a passion for creativity, education, and helping others discover the joy and confidence that comes from learning something new.
Linda is the owner of Outside the Box Learning Company and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Multicultural Education. Her love of sewing began at home, where she learned the art from her father, Emilio “Leo” Sessa, a distinguished master tailor from Italy. Today, she combines her educational background and creative skills to create learning experiences that are fun, engaging, accessible, and empowering.
She strives to create an environment where every learner feels supported and seen, regardless of their ability, learning style, or the challenges they may face. Through her teaching, Linda also encourages kindness, empathy, and a strong sense of community.
